I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite A105-S4094 Laptop. At the begining the computer stop after 5 minutes of being on, but I notice that always happend when I tried to access personal documents like pictures, music, etc. I thought that it was a virus and tried to scan the computer, but then the scan stoped after 5%. The same thing happend when I tried to scan in Safe Mode, and freezes. Trying to ruled everything out, thinking that the computer was heating up, I opened the computer to cleaning it, and put the computer underneath a fan and downloaded "Speedfan ", but the computer was running at normal levels, but then I tried to access files and the computer freezed immediately. I stopped the Spyware Doctor Antivirus software to see if there was a problem with RAM (the RAM is 1.49 GB) being over utilized and the computer started to run normally, but certain files, including recently made couldn't open. I've used this software for over 3 years now and this is the first time this happened to me. The computer don't freeze no more after stopping the Antivirus software even though the computer still experience really slowdown problems opening regular files. By the way other programs like CCleaner, Skype, Internet Explorer or regular windows programs run just fine even when I run them simultaneously, even when I'm listening to music (my own music). Can you guys help?

Suspicious activity like this suggests it may be malware related. Please read this post and then post requested logs in the Malware and Virus Removal Forum.

And, at your next opportunity, please enter your system details. It makes it easier to help.

And to give you something else to try. Run chkdsk and download a diagnostic program from your hard drive manufacturer and let us know the results.

Can you hear a lot of hard drive activity while your PC is taking its time to complete an operation?
