Welcome to theRemoving Spyware & Virusessection of theWindowsBBS Help and Support Forum
Please remember that we are all volunteers, and that we come here to help when we can. With that in mind, please be patient when waiting for a response. Do NOT bump your topic! If it has been three days or more without a response, please PM a moderator or Admin with a link to your New Topic.
If you are receiving help for the same issue at another forum, do NOT start a topic for it here, unless you notify the other forum that you are doing so. Please inform us of this, and give us a link to that topic so that we can see what has been done.
Help us to help you!
Please start your own topic for help. It is not helpful to append your plea for help to someone else's topic. It only means that we must take the time to move it and give it a title, before we can respond. Once you have started a topic, please make all replies to that same topic.
Give your topic a title that reflects your reason for requesting help.
Tell us why you are posting, with as much relevant detail as possible. For example, if you are posting because your antivirus finds an infection but can't remove it, tell us if you can, what the name of the file is, where the file is located, what name your antivirus labels it as, etc.
We want to know what, if anything, you have done to resolve the issue(s) on your own. We want to know what tools you have used, if any, and what they found and/or removed. Be prepared to post logs from those tools ........ we will probably ask for them.
Be sure that you fully understand how to do what we might request of you. If you are unsure, ask before you proceed. We will happily give more precise or easier to understand instructions, so that it gets done properly. If you choose to follow our recommendations, do so as given, in the order given.
When instructed to, post all requested logs and let us know if things have changed, whether it's an improvement or not. We can't see how your computer is behaving, so we are relying on you to tell us.
Getting started ........ what you need
We would like for you to use RSIT, a scanning tool created by random/random
This tool will not only use HijackThis to scan the system, but will scan other areas of the system which are often affected by malware, giving us a more comprehensive look at what might be affecting your system.
At the disclaimer, please use the drop down box to select 3 months for the file/folder search, then click Continue
As noted on the disclaimer, RSIT will check for the existence of the latest version of HijackThis, then attempt to download and install it if needed.
Please allow RSIT access through your firewall if prompted.
When the scan completes it will open a log named log.txt maximized, and a log named info.txt minimized.
Please post the contents of both logs in your New Topic.

Note - You may be required to split the logs into 2 or more posts due to their size and character count limitations in the forum software.
Before posting any messages, be sure to read our Posting Rules, and abide by them.
If you have a question, read the F.A.Q. first. If you decide to e-mail me, please note that I will NOT answer any e-mail when the question is addressed in one of our FAQ’s or additional documents.
Please note that we are all volunteers here. We aren’t paid by anyone. We will try to answer your question, but demanding an answer/solution won’t help you a bit!
