Everyday MS Windows10 update caption appears to force me to upgrade. Each decline causes computer to malfunction but then rights itself. Today has proved serious as WLM no longer functions or appears on monitor screen. A reinstall of WLM shows that WLDCore.dll is unavailable and aborts install. A restore has proved negative and to round up not allow any further re-installs. No trace can be found on C drive though re-install shows it is installed. Any help as to restore e-mails being sent or received. Thanks for assistance.

Hi Evan, thanks for your response. WLM 2011 is no longer current. As pointed out that I can not reinstall WLM 2012 as it just aborts. Today the MS Windows 10 caption was shown on screen, clicking the X then simply froze computer and required a cold start of computer. This now happens at least three times of my switching the computer on. My E-mail facility is also non-functional as my Provider installed software fails to recognise my details, and worse my Provider is unable to repair fault after a thorough and lengthy session. It appears as in Computer Magazines, that MS is determined that all users of Windows 7,8,8.1 will install Windows 10 with or without our consent.

You can use GWX Control Panel (free) to remove the 'Get Windows 10' harassment on both Windows 7 and 8/8.1.

Alternatively, see this post for instructions on removing the Windows 10 app nonsense from your Windows 7 system.

WLM was reinstalled and Icon displays on screen. In installed programs WLM is not shown. WLM icon does not respond to the mouse pointer click. As a check installed another software title eM Client, it responds to a point but is not "authentication" by my Net provider who has checked all detailed entries and found as correct. No receive or send of Emails is possible. Can anyone please suggest a remedy, thank you.

Try Performing a clean boot in Windows and see if Windows Live Mail installs successfully.

If the program fails to install let me know if the same error message comes up as before or if you are receiving a different error message.

SpywareDr, checked KB3093594 in updates, it does appear to have been installed as an update -- 01/11/2015 to 22/12/2015 as shown in Update history. Thanks Bobby.

Try following the below method to completely remove Windows Live Essentials from the machine.

Since you could not uninstall certain applications due to some program errors we will use another method of removing those applications.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Download the portable version of Revo Uninstaller. (The link is at the very bottom of the download page)

    2. Save the folder to your desktop.

    3. Once the program has finished downloading, locate the zipped folder, right click it and select Extract all.

    4. After the folder has been extracted open up the folder and locate the revouninstaller.exe program.

    5. Launch the program by right clicking on the revouninstaller.exe program and selecting Run as administrator and locate the application that you want to remove.

    6. Highlight the entry and select Uninstall.

    7. A window will come up asking you which mode you would like to use to remove the program.

    8. Click on Advanced Mode and then click the Next button.

    9. Follow the steps in the Wizard and make sure that you delete all files and registry entries that are found for the program.

    10. If there is more than one entry in the programs list that you want to remove, then follow steps 6-9 again.

    11. After the removal process finishes for all the programs that you wanted to remove, restart the computer.

    12. Once the computer reboots, see if those applications have been fully removed from your machine.

Once Windows Live Essentials has been removed download the latest version from here, Windows Live Essentials.

Evan, thanks. I have the Pro Revo Uninstaller installed for many years now and as you suggested opened RU. It does not show WLM and neither does Win 7 Program Uninstall. WLM hown no where but it does say it is installed, very confusing.

Evan, before reading your post, decided to to carry out a clean install of Windows 7. Installing again WLM, displayed, unable to install WLM, Unknown Error 0x800040705 dotnet40. I can not understand, as all trace of previous Windows 7 is removed by the clean install and a new copy of WLM is still rejected.

Do you have .NET Framework 4.0 installed? If not install it from here, .NET Framework 4.0.

Then take a look at the advice offered in this post.

WLM has now been reinstalled, but again on inserting information, it shows that authentication is refused by the internet provider Virginmedia. All entries has been checked several times. Apparently Virgin use IMAP as to POP3.
A clean install of Windows 7 shows not all files where deleted.
