Yes, they sell the same System Repair Disk as the one that I already linked to on amazon.com in your other thread.

You can buy the System Repair Disk from amazon.com or from systemdiscs.com. They both sell the same Windows 7 System Repair Disk but its just hosted on different websites.

Also, the PC is now showing an error 0xc000000e

The boot selection failed because a required device was unavailable.

So did you already create the Windows 7 System Repair Disk? Did you use it to boot your Acer system?

Which computer is getting this error message? The acer machine?

    Hi Evan,

I must admit at this point I am a bit confused (been struggling with this for 12+ hours today and the same yesterday).

I ran the command in the other link and it created a disk, Out of curiosity I looked in Windows Explorer and I only saw 2 folders named boot and sources and the entire disk is only 250 MB in size. Does this sound like the same thing Amazon sells?

BTW, I am now running a memory check - so far so good.

**** NOTE: For now should we stay focused on this thread?

Hi Evan - let's continue this exclusively in the other thread, if you don't mind.

Yes the size of the disc being 250 MB sounds about right. Amazon sells the same disc that you already created.

Did you boot the acer computer from your System Repair Disk yet?

In the future please just post all of your information in the first thread instead of creating a new one since its getting annoying for me to have to go back and forth between these two threads you made. Thanks.

    EDIT: Both Threads Merged.

Sorry for the delay and for making a second thread. Thanks for merging them :)

I did try to use the System Repair disk - it did not help. After it attempted the repair I ended up with the error message I mentioned earlier 0xc000000e.

Here is a link to an interesting thread I found. I did look at the disk under disk manager and saw the extra partition, so this is an option. Everything is backed up except for the files that were on my desktop. I am starting to think I need to reinstall Windows - will the Linux s/w he mentioned let me copy files from my desktop?

Did you run System Restore from the System Repair Disk?

Did you try running the commands from my post in post #17?

    Hi Evan,

So glad to see you are online! I must admit that I have tried so many options it is getting confusing. I am pretty sure I tried System Restore from the repair disk. I know I tried all the options offered.

In terms of your DOS command, unless I am mistaken I cannot try them because I do not have a Windows 7 installation CD.

If you use the System Repair Disk you should be given a list of repair options. Click the Command Prompt at the bottom of the window and enter in the commands that I posted.

Thank you - I will see if I can get that to work. Evan - it may be a while as I am in the middle of backing up my datafiles to a USB 2 HDD.

Update - After multiple attempts I decided to use my Acer Recovery disks and essentially repaired windows. I retained some of my apps and did not lose any data. I am now working on installing all my apps again. Thank you all for your help with this. I am going to mark the thread as resolved.
