Resolved Wifi Connects to router but not to Internet

WIFI Connects to Router but not Internet - Revisited

I had been working on this particular laptop problem before See this thread

In that thread when I took the laptop back it connected fine. What I didn't know was it was connecting to an unsecured network.

The laptop was brought back to me for cleanup [again] and I thought this would be an opportunity to try again to resolve the problem.

It isn't my router......I uninstalled the wireless adaptor and removed the drivers from the system. I also uninstalled all the Acer Network Management software. I then located and downloaded drivers. Reinstalled the adaptor, installed the new drivers and.......

Voila! it connected to my secure network and the internet as it should.
