Got the above message yesterday and then my computer automatically rebooted. Did some research and it appears that something on my system is causing the problem. So far it has not happened again yet. Any advise? My Norton 360 and my Auslogics Boostspeed were both updated a few days ago.

Download Speccy to find the rest of what's in your machine.

will it tell me what the problem is or will it just tell me what is on the computer? Belarc advisor tells me what is on the computer. I have downloaded the hidden recommended windows updates and one driver update that was needed. I suspect that the problem may have been caused by Norton 360 update or by Auslogics update? A restore prior to these updates was suggested, but, I get message that the prior versions may not install correctly, so, am reluctant to restore.

You didn't list that much information in your sys specs. That's why posted a link to Speccy. Sorry about that. I didn't know that you used Belarc Advisor. I've used Norton products for years and as of now haven't had any update problems. I'm currently using Norton Security With Backup. Did you have a BSOD or receive any error codes.

BSOD 0x18 was the error showing before it shutdown and then re-booted.

    Hi Marv6.

I need some more information about your issue. Does the blue screen happen randomly or can you reproduce the behavior on demand? Did you install any software or make any changes to the computer before the computer started blue screening? Is this the first time you have seen the computer blue screen like this?

If you boot the computer into Safe Mode does it still blue screen?

Follow these instructions to post a Dump Data Log.

If you do not have a dump, ensure that your machine is configured to write out a dump by following the directions from microsoft.

Thanks Evan & Ell Jay 50, I checked the link provided and I have already done several of the steps suggested. The error so far has only happened one time, a couple of days after I updated Norton 360 and Auslogics Boostspeed. While I was doing some of the steps suggested I got an error message from Norton, so, went thru the steps to correct the Norton error and as of today no more blue screens and no more norton error message. I really think the problem had something to do with Norton or Auslogics Boostspeed(with Boostspeed it is real easy to over fix problems causing more problems). Will follow your suggestions if it happens again. thanks!!!
