Malnutrition, thank you for various software and assistance. I ran all titles one at a time, and therefore I am unable to say which software or probably all of them were successfull in clearing error in question. I have powered up computer from scratch at least three times and each time IE 9 installed without having to use the diagnostic check. It is great news for me and hope it is permanent. Thank you, most appreciated.

Really glad I could help you solve your issue!!! I am just curious about one thing, can I see the log below, so that we are certain you are not running too many security software. :)

Download Security Check from here or here and save it to your Desktop.
    • Double-click SecurityCheck.exe
    • Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
    • A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document

I have carried out your request, Checkup.txt is saved but I do not kow how to post it here for you to read. All appears to be fine, except computer is now running much slower at opening software icons. Gadgets in Sidebar are no longer displayed. All in one repair, indicated several files could not be repaired.

Also please run a checkdisk /r on your machine.

Here is a youtube video that explains it well.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4feZG3LebOg

Now I would disable all start up items except your antivirus, as suggested earlier, if you have not.

Install and run Wipe, go to the windows tab of the program and select all items to be cleaned.
    https://privacyroot.com/software/www/en/wipe-download.php
    https://singularlabs.com/software/system-ninja/

Also install and run system ninja, these two programs will clean useless junk, most machines I have run these programs on have seen dramatic increase in speed.

If you are scanning for malware or viruses the logs should be posted in the Malware and Virus Removal forum for broni our malware analyst to look at.

Thanks again for valuable information. Allinone repair was run, after it required two programs (Intel) to be reinstalled as it was now corrupted as was VLC Media player. I now find computer unstable at times and slower to bootup software. Privacyroot.com refused to show Web address, Win Diagnotic was unable fix error.

Ok, can you copy and paste the security check log, I think that the wipe site is down for now. Or could you post this log so I can see what is going on with your machine.

Please download MINITOOLBOX and run it.

    Checkmark following boxes:

    Flush DNS
    Reset FF proxy Settings
    Reset Ie Proxy Settings
    Report IE Proxy Settings
    Report FF Proxy Settings
    List content of Hosts
    List IP configuration
    List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer log
    List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size
    List Devices (problems only)

Click Go and post the result. Copy the entire report, and paste it into your reply.

Tried your suggestion, found them to complicated with sign up procedures just for a one of. Can an E-mail address not suffice? Thank you, Bobby.

There is no need to sign up, for either, you can just go to pastebin.com paste the logs, then click submit. You will then copy the url and paste it here. :)

Also, it is not a good idea to post your email on a public forum. :)

I really do not know what is exactly required as it just fails to materialise. I just feel a proper fool. I suggest in closing this topic but appreciate work carried out by you. Thanks again, Bobby.

    No need to close topic.

Copy and paste your log Here Then Click Submit. Then copy the URL and paste here.

I am here to help, I would not feel good if you left with your computer halfway working. :) I have time to help, and do not mind walking you through step by step. After all, we must crawl before we walk. The same can be applied here, not everyone knows how to do everything automatically. :)

Believe me I do appreciate your help as it is rare today for people offering help without payment. There must be an error on my computer as the copy and paste simply refuses to work. When I click on either logs they simply open on the "Paste here" page. Sorry, Bobby.

When I carry out the copy/paste of logs it appears to work correctly. On doing the same on Reply to Thread the paste is greyed out. Other it opens contents of file.

This also sounds to me like the character limit may have been exceeded, you may need to break the log into two post.
