No one asked me to post the log. Should I? My assumption was that since it did the scan and found 0 infected files that there was nothing wrong/no bugs.

You sure about that IP address? Per your posted txt files the router is 192.168.2.1.

Something is fishy with that router if it's 192.168.1.1.

Actually, 192.168.1.1 IS the default IP address for the Verizon Westel modems. But your earlier posted txts show it as 192.169.2.1. If you actually can access the router via 1.1 then something's awry.

My next suggestion would be to do a soft reset of the modem-router. Disconnect comp from modem. Hold in the modem reset button and keep it held in while removing the power to it. Then let go of the reset button. Then power it up, wait until it syncs with Verizon and the Internet led is lit. Use the previous instructions to manually set your comp DNS to 192.168.1.1. Then connect the comp to the Westel.

I haven't tried what you suggested yet as I am at another location just checking my emails. However, I will try when i get home later on this evening. Also, I forgot to mention that I have a Westell modem, but I am connecting to it via a Lynksys router. Does that have anything to do with it? Remember, I was able to login to Facebook up to two months ago.

OK, after thinking this through, it appears that your Westel was handling DNS (192.168.1.1) and the Linksys is handling DHCP because you comp is getting 192.168.2.x IP addresses. That means your Westel is probably in Bridged mode, at least it should be.

I would power off the modem & router. Then power on the modem, wait till it syncs with Verizon & the Internet light comes on. Then do same for the router. Then access the modem via 192.169.1.1 and verify it's in Bridged mode. If not in Bridged mode then you are bound to have DNS and DHCP issues.

Sorry guys, kinda gave up on the issue for a little while. I didn't realize it was still active and needed closure. Tony, I did what you said and "nada ". Not sure how to see if the modem is bridged or not. Whatever the cause, I still cannot login to facebook. I think it's a lost case. :(:(:(
