I got a strange phonecall last night from a man with a Pakistan accent telling me that I had a virus in my computer. I have no idea who he was,I asked him how the devil he knew what I had in my computer and he told me it was his duty to tell me. I thought it was a hoax but now I am not to sure. I ran malware bytes this afternoon after I got to thinking about it and it came up with 1 threat. Something called "PUP.Spyboss ". I tried to find info about it and only came up with one piece of info which said keylogger but I'm not sure that is correct. Does anyone know what this is and how do you get rid of a keylogger?

    Thanks...
    Karen

Did you have MBAM remove it and then reboot the PC? Couple of forums said that should of got rid of it.

You can post the log from MBAM and what ever else is asked in the Malware section and Broni will be happy to take a look at it.

You know it wouldn't have bothered me so much but he said my first name but I couldn't understand when he said the last name. Then when Malware bytes found that spyboss thing I got spooked.

These people really need to get a life. I am running another malware byte then I will run the other things you guys say to run. I would really hate to wipe my hard drive, I have so much stuff on it. I think when this fiasco is over I am just going to move everything to an external and when I download something I will download it to an external too. Then it will be so much easier to wipe clean if I need to. Geez what a mess. Really guys I do try to be very careful. In fact the exe file that Malware said it was in was a recommendation from Kim Komando.

Your post in the Malware section should be of the log that the infection was found. Not the one you posted.

I let it remove the threat this afternoon and when I ran it again it said it is clean. I just want to make sure it is gone and everything is clear.

Open up MBAM and look under the Logs tab. Every scan you run, it saves a log there if it is done right. They will be there till you remove them or remove the program. You can also look in the Quarantine tab and see what is there and where it was found.
