[Active] Ran Malwarebytes now can't open programs

Hi, I have a virus. I finally got malwarebytes to run and it found and removed viruses. I rebooted the comp and now I can't open malwarebytes
to get the log file. Now all of my programs prompt with (open with what program) when i try to open them. Everything in my control panel comes up with an error "c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe" app not found.
    Thank you for any help.

Do a system restore to a point before you ran MB (you may need to use this technique) then follow the instructions here. Do not attempt to do anything else until advised by a malware specialist.

If in doubt about anything please request assistance.

I think what happened is the rundll32.exe was replaced by a virus, then when I ran malwarebytes it removed the infected file. Now I can't open anything except my web browser. Is this possible? Is there any way to get it back without the xp cd's?
I made recovery disks but my comp didn't come with xp disks. I assume the recovery disks will wipe everything off the harddrive?

I'll leave this for the malware analysts for now btonning, but yes using the recovery disks will likely reset the system to factory condition.

You could assist by filling out your system specifications (of the faulty system) which will help in answering this and any other queries you may have. Obviously you cannot run SIW but please complete as much information as you can.

Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.
    Download Mirror #1
    Download Mirror #2

    • Double-click SystemLook.exe to run it.
    • Vista users:: Right click on SystemLook.exe, click Run As Administrator
    • Copy the content of the following box into the main textfield:
      Code:
      :filefind
      rundll32.exe

    • Click the Look button to start the scan.
    • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
Note: The log can also be found on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt

Thanks broni, I haven't had much luck downloading anything since the malwarebytes.
It'll download but I can't run anything. The "open with" window opens up whenever I try to run a scan or open a program. But I will try when I get home.
    Thanks again.

Hi, I got systemlook downloaded and scanning. Well it says it's scanning but I'm not sure it's really doing anything. How long does this usually take?

It may take a while, depending on how many files you have.
Just be patient for a while.
Let me know, if nothing happens...

    Forget it then...

Go Start>Run ( "Start Search" in Vista), type in:
    sfc /scannow
Click OK (hold CTRL, and SHIFT, hit Enter in Vista).
Have Windows CD/DVD handy (with Vista, most likely, you won't need it).
If System File Checker (sfc) will find any errors, it may ask you for the CD/DVD (rarely in Vista case).
If sfc won't find any errors in Windows XP, it'll simply quit, without any message.

BTW, what do we have here? XP?

I hate this Windows version. It's very hard to fix anything there.
Do you have any Windows CD?
Can you open Windows Explorer, or command prompt to see, if rundll32.exe file is present in c:\windows\system32 ?
