:eek:Hi, I'm back. Here's the latest dilemma, when in the control panel, I click on Internet Options and the screen flickers once and then nothing. Internet Options never opens. If I open "inetcpl.cpl" in "Windows/system32" folder I can get it to open. Any ideas?

Is this the only control panel item that doesn't work?

You may want to try runniing system file checker to ensure the control panel isn't corrupted. Start > run > type "sfc /scannow" (without quotes - note the space between "sfc" and "/scannow "

Thanks Mitchell, I just ran the scan and it must of fixed a few other things because it needed my XP disc. But after scan was finished, the issue is still present.

Assuming you have all the XP updates and all other icons in Control Panel are working, it could be malware. I would suggest following these instructions and posting the result in the Malware and Virus Removal forum.
