XP Very Slow Boot

    The extra RAM may well not significantly alter the boot time, but you should find that applications run quicker as there is more RAM available and the use of virtual memory is reduced.

    It may be that the additional ram won't alter the startup time but it would surprise me if it didn't make any difference at all. I've seen it many times where a computer takes forever to boot and adding more ram took care of it. I would imagine that with so little ram things start getting written to the pagefile when windows runs out ram to load startup items into. I suppose though that if one had things down to the bare minimum it may not have much effect.
