    Hi all,

About a month or more ago, complete format and clean install of WinXP SP3.

Now, blue screens again, and so much worse than that. (And I'm a very careful user.)

Actually, the first question I have is that suddenly my User Account name (and I'm the Administrator, with the Administrator Account, but just added a second Administrator User Account with a different name and password to see if any user name would show up in Task Manager) does not show up in Task Manager under Processes, whereas I think it did, yesterday.

Now, this is probably part of a much bigger problem which is that my apartment has been invaded repeatedly, and I think on one occasion they must have installed software to allow them to control my computer remotely overnight. If I could prove at least that, as well as stop them, I might finally have enough to take to the police, because all my attempts at trying to catch them invading with my web cam monitor have been eluded - and in mocking ways, even.

My computer generally goes into their "control" overnights. With msconfig, I disallowed every "remote access" service I could see, today, in Start Up. Still, my computer is malfunctioning tonight - my firewall reported a critical hijacking and two major hijackings, but that might be because it's old and outdated and I need a newer, supported firewall. But that was just tonight. Also, my mail suddenly won't download from the server tonight - these are the hours during which someone else seems to take remote control of my computer (deleting data from apps, uninstalling software, etc.).

I have several antivirus apps now, although I only really run one at a time, one of which I bought solely to try to detect any keyloggers, and it did report one hiding in a harmless, small astronomy app I've used for years, only malware can cloak itself into a lot of trusted apps, so very possibly there was a keylogger, and I removed the app from Start-Up, but didn't run it again, or uninstall it yet.

If I told you everything that has been going on here, and on my computer (at home, if that's what you'd call it), you just wouldn't believe it, and it would take me hours to type it.

So, Short question #1) Why don't any Users but "SYSTEM" show on Task Manager when there are two Administrator Users? (I didn't see a way to separate my User account from Administrator, and the warranty tech who helped me with my reinstall said there was no problem with that, but I thought I had read the opposite on a Microsoft forum.)

Short question #2) How can I find any software on my computer that would be allowing the people who've been ruining my life to control it remotely and I guess wirelessly every night?

For any help, my everlasting thanks.

    Gail
