    I purchased a Seagate 1TB HD and would like to establish a Raid 1 connection. How can I do this I WinXP3 Pro.

    I am running WinXP3 with a Pentium 4 3GB, 1.5Gb memory. 80GB Western Digital and 120 GB Maxtor IDE's. Asus PM800-M2 mother. 2 Sata's and 2 IDE's.

    You would need 2 identical [not necessary but makes the whole process much easier] disks for RAID 1 [also called mirroring] to work plus another hard disk for installing Windows XP if you want XP to look after your RAID partitions.

    You can create a RAID thru your motherboard BIOS also, in which case you would need a BIOS which supports RAID & 2 identical hard disks.

    However, the preferred way is to get a dedicated hardware RAID controller card if you don't want the system to crawl & to make sure that your data is safe.
