Resolved xp home install freezes same place everytime

    I do recall a keyboard causing a major problem with the boot sequence, I should have thought of that earlier:rolleyes:

    its a new multi-media keyboard and honestly i cant say ive ever seen that happen. ive seen keyboard usb ones that have had coffee or pop spilled on them and it caused the desktop to go crazy but not this. i suppose if the signal is bad its accessing a memory address and freezes. still want to test a little more to make sure its not the speakers but so far its good. we will see in the morning when i fire it up again.

    nope problem is back once again. this **** machine is going to be stripped and then i am going to use my shotgun and blow it into pieces.

    Just one last idea. Are you using SATA or IDE hard drives? If you have been using SATA you need to have the drivers, SATA drivers are not included in Windows XP.

    honestly it makes no sense was working just fine for 3 months then pow.

    Going back to post 22 when you had it working did you get the chipset drivers installed?

    oh yeah either i have the driver cd or i download all the drivers while im rebuilding the machine so yes chipset is always installed on every dell i work with.

    All I can conclude is some fault on the mobo:(, what else could it be?
