Windows Vista WMP Problems since I bought Laptop...WON'T PLAY DVDs!

    I just can't get WMP to play DVDs for me on my laptop toshiba satellite pro L300D, vista sp2, 32 bit system, ati radeon 1250 ....since i bought it march last year!!! I've tried the solution still no joy... I am also thinking of and tried unsuccessfully to locate and install WMP 11 for my system... I tried to get details of my WMP edition ...couldn't. please help
