Try typing the following in a DOS window: 'netsh winsock reset catalog', then hit enter, then reboot the PC.

9 times out of 10 it works for me.

ok, nothing was working. went home for the weekend, unplugged my PC since I wasn't using it, and call me paranoid, but I don't fully trust surge protecters, and since there were supposed to be storms, I unplugged it.

Got back, plugged PC back in, turned it on....and the wired connection was working...

    ***?!?

OK, something you guys had me do took effect...no idea what fixed it, but it is now working.

    And so I say:

    "THANK YOU!!! "
