I'm still happy with W8.1. I've just built a comp for the wife to bring her up to speed and she loves W8.1. She loves the speed with which a new comp with Quad core CPU and 8GB's RAM and W8.1 OS are open and useable within 45 seconds!
XP was the usual 2minutes plus and she was scared initially but using Start8 makes it a lot easier and W8.1 makes her safer on the Internet.
I have retained 1 comp with XP Pro but it's S L O W by comparison and yet we thought it was the bee's knees when we first got it. Cheers Neil.

Well if you dream of something like Game of Thrones (Centuries old) using an old word processor it figures. My idea is that we learn from history - not re-enact it!
Someone ought to tell George R R Martin that we are in the 21st century. Neil.

There are two other machines that will bring down the XP market share. Some friends returned from a cruise and vacation to find out their XP was no longer supported and no longer secure..they are going to Wn7 next week.
