Windows XP cannot run Antivirus applications

    Hi. I am having problems with my notebook suddenly being unable to run/open the antivirus applications I have installed and I cannot uninstall them as well. My notebook has slowed down and some folders have been emptied. :( Please help me solve my problem. Thanks a lot.

    Here's the specs of my notebook:
    Microsoft XP
    Home Edition
    version 2002
    Service Pack 3

    Acer Inc.
    Intel (R) Atom(TM)
    CPU N270 @1.60 GHz
    1.60GHz. 0.98 GB of RAM
