    I just purchased a laptop with Windows Vista. I see updates are available at microsoft.com but I don't have the internet yet. I heard there is a way to request a free cd for updates. Where do I go?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS;)

    You can download them from here with the pc you're using and burn em to cd or flash drive...Or, simply wait till the machine has internet access.

    I think this is kinda what your looking for except that you will have get a friend to download the ISO file and Burn a DVD for you...

    I did some Googling and could not find an actual link to where you can order some CD's\DVD's. Someone else may be able to post a link where you can order them.

    Free support for Vista is available here. If the previous advice doesn't help, you may contact MS and maybe they'll send you a CD. It never hurts to ask.
