I'm going to run in safe mode all day, and see how that does. Sound like a good idea?

You really need to consider a few things. The comp is 7 years old with DDR2 Memory and 160W PSU.
Vista runs OK in newer m/b's with higher spec hardware as I can testify with my HDD Vista Business.
I would strongly consider saving up and getting a newer unit as you may end up chasing your tail. ;) Neil

I think your right. I'm running the hardware diagnostic at the beginning it said problem with 6 to4 network adaptor, I reinstalled it but it still said problem, can this just be uninstalled?

1394 is Firewire? Are you using any devices with Firewire? Don't hear much about it these days so if you're not using it - uninstall/disable it and see what happens. Neil.

It appears for the time being the problem is fixed, what I've done is disable the error message on on the 6 to 4 network adaptor, and I'm running auslogics boost speed and did several defrags. The hard drive diagnostics doesn't show any errors anymore. don't know which or either was the solution but I'll take it
