I did the uninstall of all office2003 products, reboot and on restart i installed the main feature including word, excel, powerpoint, access, outlook and publisher (word and excel are the only ones i use with the occasional need for powerpoint if i receive an email with a .pps extension in it).

As said previous i have never found use for frontpage, visio, project or one note so is it worth just leaving them off? Will that affect the stability of what i have installed?

I installed Office2003SP2-KB887616-Client-ENU.exe and on looking at windows update because of the lack of visio, onenote etc. The only update was the junk mail filter for outlook which worked successfully.

I could maybe compose a note for that thread to say the uninstallation helped and mention i never bothered with the visios etc as i found no personal use for them???

And thanks again, you guys at this board rule

Glad to hear that the 'ultimate solution' worked for you, but I'm sure that you could have done without the hassle :)
No - they are essentially standalone programs which integrate with Office. The components included by default in Office depend on which version of Office you have - details here.
