This should be easy but it has me perplexed. I have gone through 'personalizations' and whatnot more times than counting. The screen saver window shows 'none' which I selected but the screen still blanks.

The goal is to have the screen not wink out. On XP there was a 'power setting' that controlled this. On Win 7 what should I do to get the screen to stay permanently?

Hi loninappleton. If the monitor is still turning itself off even if the screensaver is disabled then you need to check your power options so you can set the time to turn off the display to never.

    See my screenshot below.

    Thanks for this.

It is cleverly hidden under High Performance then. Grrrr.

Will mark resolved when I find it.

Appreciate the clarification. I might have been hunting around through the various option displays (too many by half.)

Were you able to find the Power Options in Control Panel?

This was the right solution. Just difficult for me to locate.

    Have marked the thread resolved.

    You're welcome Evan.

This is not even what they call intuitive since the Supersaver setting (whatevs) to look under is opposite to what the always on setting would mean.

Windows bbs has gotten me out of yet another Windows 7 jam.

    cheers

No I did not since I don't have the authority to move posts to other threads.

It looks like I can't delete but it does not effect the 'resolved' status.
