    Hi. New to this forum.
I'm currently on XP home edition on this computer. It got massively infected recently but I seem to have cleared it with AVIRA, not the free version. I seem to have lost or displaced a number of DLL files however. I would like to do a windows repair but unfortunately, I don't have the windows disc. Any suggestions.

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

Avira deals only with viruses - there may be other malware on your computer and you would be advised to start a thread in the Malware & Virus Removal forum for a check up .....

Please read this as indicated at the head of the forum and post the logs requested in a new thread.

If you want to make repair install of XP Home you can do so with a borrowed CD, which must be at the same Service Pack level as the installed OS and use your own COA of course.

You may need to slipstream SP3 into the borrowed CD - does not physically change that CD :) - you burn a copy with SP3 included - see.....
