Was sailing along with everything honkey dorey using Windows 7, I got notification my email provider (yahoo) had made changes and advised I upgrade to windows 8 to enjoy their improvements. Ever since doing so parts of my white screen have turned a light aqua and everything has like a white shadow around it then aqua .. could the upgrade to windows 8 have done this? And how can I get back to windows 7? Honestly I see no "improvement" other then this color / font issue

Windows 8 is still in beta [testing] & has NOT been released for general public use. I wonder how yahoo could have sent you any such message. I believe that your computer has been compromised & some malware installed in guise of Windows 8.

Read this post, then post the requested log(s) in the Malware and Virus Removal forum.

Hmm.. I'm sure thats my mistake then ... maybe it was just an update from Yahoo mail? So why did I suddenly become aqua and shadowy.. wonder if I "upgraded" my IE?

I'm betting you upgraded Internet Explorer and NOT Windows...

Not likely that you installed Internet Explorer 8 because IE8 already is the browser in Windows 7. It's possible you installed a Yahoo toolbar or theme for Internet Explorer, or you installed some malware.

So I know there is a way to restrore my computer to a previous point like 3 days ago before this stupid change .. will it fix my issue? And where exactly do I look for that restore option? Maybe that download has nothing to do with the color change ..

So I just picked the laptop up off the table and put it down again and it was fixed .. did it again just for kicks and it flickered and went back to aqua .. unplugged the cord and put it back in again and it was still aqua .. picked it up and gave it a littlle jossel and fixed .. so something is loose somewhere? What would be that sensitive if not the cord? Only had it 6 months, never been dropped, spilled etc..

Sounds like hardware to me so get in touch with your retailer and get it fixed under warranty.

Regarding what you do to revert the upgrade...

    Orb (start)
Type System restore in the Search programs and files box
Click on System Restore offered at the top of the menu and follow the prompts.

More information at System Restore - Windows 7 Features
