Microsoft have released an update that contains all the security and non-security fixes released since the release of Windows 7 SP1 up through April 2016. Install this one update, and then you only need new updates released after April 2016.

You can find it in the Microsoft Update Catalog

To apply this update, you must install the April 2015 servicing stack update for Windows 7 (KB3020369). You can read more about the Convenience rollup update for Windows 7 SP1 here.

Requires Internet Explorer to access the download for what it's worth.

Can You elaborate on that? I installed it on a fresh installation of Windows 7 PRO + SP1. The file was downloaded in advance, the installation was done off-line and IE8 made no attempt to connect.

Did you use Internet Explorer for the download, Christer?

I clicked on Arie's catalog link (I was using Firefox), and a message told me that I would need to use Internet Explorer to access the files. I guess I should have known that already, but it's been a long time since I visited Microsoft Catalog.

Mighty thankful to Arie for posting such a link. I was under the impression that Microsoft would never release another service pack / roll-up for Windows 7.

As you have noticed, Microsoft Update Catalog uses an ActiveX control which only works with the most recent version of Internet Explorer and is the reason why Firefox can't be used. IE8, which comes with Windows 7, is obsolete and I don't think it will install the ActiveX control. I used IE11 on a different computer (my own) to download and "carried over" on a USB stick.

I misunderstood your comment as an internet connection was needed to install the, in advance, downloaded update ... ... sorry about that.
