Resolved Windows 7 instant search

Sorry I have not come back to you... As information to Markmadras, my computer is being regularly checked for any virus and I am sure that by now if there was any it would have "showed up ".

I still have not been able to see the technician (who currently has more urgent problems to solve than mine), but I found out that, when in Outlook, when typing a hint as to what I am looking for and moving down the arrow, I arrive at "Search Desk Top" and then, miracle, all the documents I have been trying to locat are shown...

This is perhaps not the orthodox way to search files and documents, but it works and this is all what I need. However, of course, I still hope to be able revert to the traditional method.

I shall keep you informed whenever this takes place.

Surprise, surprise ! While the IT technician still has had no time to look into the matter, I tried again - out of curiosity - to see whether the search function was again operative. Yes, indeed, a miracle did happen ? I have no idea whether this is because of a recent system update or not, but the conclusion is that it works and this without having to go via Outlook.
