    I read somewhere about a free Win 7 Beta download but the link doesn't work anymore...Are there any out there?

    You also have to be running Windows Vista. The Beta will not install on XP. It also is an .iso image which you must burn to a DVD to make an installation disk.

    A clean install is preferred over an upgrade anyway.

    Thanks for the info. I was thinking about trying it but I have XP so that's out. Just as well, don't know enough to fight with an OS anyway. With my luck it would turn into a big fight too.
    But I am interested in hearing others experiences with it.
