    Just received Version 1803 OS Build 17134.1 on my HP Notebook. 01/05/2018 install was completely trouble free.:D

    Thanks for the heads up! I went to the Media Creation Tool "site" and had it create a USB flashdrive to be used on installations, known to be "troublesome" when upgraded automatically.

    Tried to update through Windows Update. Windows kept on tripping after half an hour with Error 0x80244018.

    Would download manually & then try.

    Started downloading manually through Media Creator tool but went into "You must be using Administrator account" wall. Why can't MS let us download the file without Administrator privilege ? I can't do any work as long as I am logged in Administrator account. :mad:

    Yes - it's a very time consuming update, but installed with no issues on my desktop via Windows Update. Currently updating notebook.

    I've spent most of the afternoon seeing the install on my grandson's Lenovo MIIX 510 laptop, this comp (my main one) and my dedicated "Insider" comp.
    My daughter's Acer Aspire E-15 would not receive it through WU so I did a search and used this Download Windows 10
    It took about an 1¼ hours to download and install each and all of these without any hassles. I had 3 downloading at one time during early afternoon.
    Now to get at the wife's comp when she lets me.

    Upgraded my Toshiba LapTop (disconnected from the internet, using the created USB installation media) in less than an hour.

    No. Pete and rsinfo were on Desktops! My main comp and my 'dedicated' "Insider" are Desktop (Home built) and my wife's is a Desktop.
    This "Fall" (Redstone 4) 1803 version is for ALL users of Windows 10.
    It is just about how 'busy' your area is during this release.
    Please read my last Post and note I did a Manual download and install on my daughters Laptop
    for the reason I stated.
    I was asked by my daughter to start (from new) with her new Acer laptop and her son (my G'son)
    Lenovo MIIX 510 which also was brand new (for university work) and install Office 365 on both units.
    I thought it best to make sure they were right up to date with the Latest Windows version and all necessary updates. It's what G'dads are asked to do to keep busy.;)
    Sorry if you got the impression that Laptops were supreme.:eek::)

    After posting my last entry, Windows installed 1803, taking just over an hour to install. On switching my computer this morning, now find a caption for Mail Account, System Error - "Can't get mail". What other nasties are awaiting for me? As they say "to eager, disappointment"

    My 1803 just downloaded, initialized, and installed in less that 30 minutes. Haven't noted any problems yet.

    Have a read here Bobby. This seems to describe what your problem is. Windows 10 update KB4100375 (build 17133.73) releases for version 1803 • Pureinfotech
    I do not advise you to do the download unless you are desperate to get your mail.
    Googling I found many had your experience and some have fixed the problem with the download but it was initially only effecting "Insider" preview W10 users.
    I suspect there will be an update from MS very soon.

    rl, I agree in not installing KB4100375, as at the moment experienced enough trouble without introducing further trouble. If I go direct to Virginmedia Mail account, I can access mail for that address. As one would say "just be contented".

    What are they discussing?

    On the first view of that site, there are articles about "Windows 10 - The April 2018 update has a confirmed release date" and "Windows 10 Spring Update finally launches"! Why not use the same "label" and not change it (The April 2018 update > Windows 10 Spring Update) according to the mood of the author?

    The first I interpret as the monthly cumulative update, released on the date.

    The second I interpret as the version upgrade from 1709 to 1803, falsely labelled as an update rather than an upgrade.

    I hope that at some point in the not too distant future, Microsoft makes a clear distinction between Updates (happens on a monthly basis) and Upgrades (happens when a new version is released).

    I'm not sure that update/upgrade is the correct distinction and I know that we were "upgrading" from W7 and W8.1 to W10 but anything would be better than the current situation, right?

    I notice that Defender has two updates over the weekend, must be important as today is the day MS dispenses its monthly updates or is this the case this month?

    Since the upgrade to 1803, my LapTop has downloaded and installed definition updates for Defender 11 times. Once on May 01, four times on May 02, two times on May 03, three times on May 04 and once on May 08 (today). It depends on how you use your computer, turn it off and on and so forth. Also, definition updates for Defender are not directly connected to Windows Update but are managed separately.

    Tonight 08:05:2018 monthly updates. KB4103721. KB890830. Defender - KB2267602 (1.267.1013.0 1.267.965.0).
