Win7 Ultimate Never Updated?

    I have a friend who has a laptop running a dual boot XP and Win7 Ultimate. It will not update. When he tries manually he gets an error 80244019.

    MBAM found some (450) pups but nothing else.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Mitch. Try the solution from this link, Windows Update error 80070422, 80244019, or 8DDD0018.

    Does the computer have Service Pack 1 installed?

    If you can't get any updates installed you might want to get the computer checked for malware especially when Malwarebytes found a good amount of PUP entries. Chances are there could be other malware present on the machine.

    I brought the laptop home with me today. Going to get rid of XP then I'll hop over to malware side to get it checked out.
