I've noticed recently that after I type run commands like msconfig, or regedit into the Run command window they disappear shortly after I've used them, within a day or two. Usually they have always stayed there until I clean out my Temporary Internet files or run SUPERAntiSpyware. Can anyone please tell me why this is happening?

    Thank you.

Hi bellisimo. The Run history is also tied in with your recent document history. If you deleted your recent document history using the Customize Start Menu window then your Run history will be removed as well.

Instead of relying on Windows to keep the command of a program in the Run history why not just create a shortcut to msconfig or regedit for example and then store the shortcut on the desktop or in your documents folder. Once you create a shortcut, Windows will never delete it unless you delete it yourself.

Also please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions.

Note: A common error is to forget to show your System Details in your profile:

Make sure to do the above when entering your System Details, thanks.

Sure. If you want to create a shortcut to msconfig then click Start< My Computer and navigate to, C:\WINDOWS\pchealth\helpctr\binaries and right click the msconfig.exe program and click on create shortcut. Now drag the shortcut to your desktop.

For regedit, navigate to C:\WINDOWS and right click the regedit.exe file and click on create shortcut. Now drag that shortcut to your desktop.

If you would like to create other shortcuts for other Windows Utilities let me know.
