:confused:After running various programs for a while, the 16G of ram gets to point of having 15.7G used by dllhost.exe . I have to restart machine to get it back to normal levels which is 4.7G for dllhost.exe . Is this indicative of Win7 not shutting down programs even when you tell it to quit the program? My XP machine doesn't have these problems. Does anyone have an idea of what is cause of problem? I shut down a few processes with task manager but it doesn't help. It does this each time i run machine and doesn't care which programs you use. Thanks for your time:) I can't get screenshots to work so don't have any to post.

That much memory being consumed is usually caused by malicious software or viruses.

Read this post, then post the requested log(s) in the Malware and Virus Removal forum.

You mean you're not able to capture a screenshot? In any case, you have to be at least a contributing member to be able to post attachments (bmp, gif, jpeg, jpg, pdf, png, txt, zip).
