Resolved Win 10 won't sleep, and scrambles desktop icons.

Can you try wired KB and mouse. Just a process of elimination.

 

Nope! It's too difficult and I am too lazy to gain access to the back of the box. And I don't have a USB wired mouse or KB to try with the front ports.
Aside from the fact I really highly doubt vibration is a possible cause.
Remember, it all WORKED OK prior to the big update. MS s.c.r.e.w.e.d something and won't even try to address it, let alone fix it.

 

Well... Good news.

Friday PM MS forced an update on me as I was doing a full shut-down.
Since then the PC has been sleeping properly, and icons stay put.
Maybe somebody there read this thread?? Yeah, right!

So I will (with great trepidation) mark this as solved. Finally.
