Why isn't MSCONFIG working? res://fwyyk.dll/index

Wow- every site I open related to virus scans closes immediately! WHAT DO I DO?!?!

Whonder what happened to kingb.

For anyone looking at this, if caught up in a sequence of events described by kingb, don't shut the system down. I think the system was shut down and can't come up again.

The symptoms sound familiar and there was a thread here a long time ago - probably early last year - where the symptoms progressed from bad to worse. The person did post back eventually to say that after shutdown, couldn't come up and that that system was trashed

Spyware problems - Adaware and Spybot not helping!

Whenever I open up IE it goes to res://fwyyk.dll/index.html#96676

Even when I go to options and change the start-up page, it resets itself to the above address, a search portal filled with pop-ups. I've ran Ad-Aware and Spybot multiple times and they come up clean, but this problem is persisting. Any help?

it has got mine too.
I checked the hijackthis website and
he has a note saying
"stop e-mailing him about that item "
If anybody has a real fix for this...
please post it.

Ok. I actually did a system restore and it fixed my homepage resetting problem. My MSCONFIG and Task Manager, however, still do not work. Here is my log. Any suggestions? Thanks
