I mostly use either Firefox or Safari. It depends on which websites I am on, I have different sets of bookmarks.

    firefox 4 rocks

Firefox has always (to me) seemed more intuitive than other browsers, their help documentation is excellent and there are at least a few addons that make the browser more useful than MS's offerings.

I use FF but not 4, I hate the chrome interface, and 90% of my addons don't work. But when I have trouble with FF I use IE as my backup, IE9.
I forgot to stop auto updates on my wife's laptop and she started it and had upgraded to FF4 and she was lost, so I changed it back to FF 3.6.16 now she is fine. That is what I use on mine also.

Netscape was installed as the default browser when I got my first PC in 1997. When Mozilla split off and introduced Phoenix and Thunderbird as separate browser and email programs I went along, as I had no need of the suite.

Because of trademark issues Phoenix was renamed Firebird which, for the same reason, was renamed Firefox. I'm now using FF 3.6.16, but also have 4.0 installed. I'll probably standardize on it when all of the extensions I depend on have been upgraded to work with it. In the meantime, FF's customization feature and many available extensions allow me to configure 3.6.16 exactly the way I want it to look (see screenshot) and work.

I've tried other browsers, just for the sake of comparison, but have uninstalled them because they didn't do what I wanted. For the few occasions when I need to use IE, I use FF's IE Tab + extension.

anyway there is a problem with FF4.0
it is not compatable with NORTON identity where you have all your sites and their passwords.
i uninstalled FF4 till May 2011 when Norton promised to have its add-on compatable !

Just making a point Marioz but that's not a problem with FF4, surely.

I agree that upgrading to FF4 could cause problems for people but it's the addon writers who need to maintain compatibility (as you suggested) not the Firefox developers.

I love only Google chrome among all Internet Browser. Before Chrome came, i used to have Mozilla Firefox but when Chrome launched and I used it for trial, it was such a nice experiance. My surfing speed has started boosting. From that time, i am using Chrome only.

Have been happy with Firefox for years and still am with FF4. We all have to have IE somewhere on our Windows machines and even tho this box is getting on in age I have had no problems with Windows 7. Because of this I have installed IE9 and test it on occasion. It is a big improvement over previous versions. It's nice to finally have rounded corners but for me they are annoyingly fuzzy.

I love Firefox. Mainly for the addons and the main reason is the bookmark tabs! I have tried IE, Chrome, and Safari. Chrome is pretty nice and I would use that second.

well i would have dumped IE1 to IE9 with Chrome and FireFox but never NORTON.

Since you opened the subject i tried by subscription and not hijacking all antivirus inventions and lastly MaCfee which showed big weekness against AdWares... and with all i had to format maybe 8 times to get rid of the bacteria (!)
and three years i am with NORTON 360 with 6 laoptops, i never and repeat never had a virus in my system.
