HAHA, you've got a good sense of humor.:D
To bad you haven't got your own box - figured you may be poor at software,
    but good at hardware.:)
If you want XP, there are some decent boxes available - like office returns etc
Not long ago saw IBM NetVistas or Dells for about 60 bucks and with XP Pro.
Some people give them away for nothing. They got Vista and now Win7,
so don't bother with XP anymore.

For myself I always dual- or triple boot wth XP on one of the partitions
    or use VirtualBox.

I'll tell you something if you don't let anyone else know.
I built the box, and it's true - I do su*k at software.
    Sh ssh ;)

Oh yeah, that's my favourite shop - Office Returns For Less For You. (They didn't want it, and now we dump it on you.)

There's no box for "Other" OS.

I'm actually on a Mac OS 10.5 at the moment. Thought I'd try a Mac myself for once as I needed a second laptop (wife keeps nabbing the other), and found a cheap reconditioned Mac within my budget. I don't think I'll buy another though. Mac OS 10 is OK, but I can't say its any better than the other OSes out there. And I really miss the right hand mouse key. You have to use a Mac two handed and that's a pain.

However, an alternative could be to use the other laptop, but that's currently running Ubuntu. So 'other' again. Now Ubuntu - that is a lovely OS. Prefer it to Mac.

I do have a desktop at home and that is running XP Pro. However, once I got used to using a laptop, I find I don't use it very often nowadays.

So I entered Windows 7 (Pro version), because that is what I use at work. I like Windows 7 a lot. It is better the XP, but that doesn't mean XP isn't a perfectly good OS.

Fortunately, I'm pretty OS agnostic nowadays. My main apps (NetBeans, Firefox, and OpenOffice) all work on all the main operating systems.

I thought that was obvious, since the question is Which version of Windows are you running? ;)

I'm using windows vista. I logged in to my Wayn account and I accidentally block all incoming messages. I seem not to get an unblock program by right clcking my mouse while still in Wayn account. Will somebody help me how to unblock incoming images.

Almost tempts me to dig out a copy of 3.11, and fire it up on a virtual machine. And that's without arguing that ubuntu and Mac both run on X Windows, and therefore its a bit presumptuous of you to assume that Windows has to mean Microsoft.

Well I could say all those things, but in fact I'd have to admit I saw the list of operating systems and answered without paying any attention to the title. Hey ho!

I wouldn't consider Arie presumptuous at all.
I think accurate is a better term. :)

I have Vista Ultimate x32 and I love it, especially the dreamscenes which, I believe, was left out of Windows 7.
I have XP Pro on my laptop. It gets the job done. No major problems.

I had XP SP3 on my desktop when it went down. (& would have stayed with it!)
The crash wiped out both MBA and the HP installation partition's Boot record. I bought another HP (Excellent Support!) which has windows 7 and repaired the MBA. But booting (only) the XP, won't update itself on the new desktop. It goes through the boot-up, sees 'new' hardware and asks me if I want to update - but - the keyboard and mouse won't work at that point (they worked during XP boot setup).

I'd love to get both Windows 7 AND Windows XP working via Dual boot. I'm told that *something* in an OEM XP system is checking for serial numbers to prevent 'bootleg copies'? Is it true that OEM installed OS's hard drives (specifically this XP) can't be moved to a different desktop? Or do I have a different problem?
The old XP system ran on a box with the older keyboard & mouse connectors, the new hardware uses USB for both. I thought the XP just couldn't find the USB drivers, until I began asking questions..

I *LIKE* the new Windows 7, but it's 64 bit home premium,, and I've got two devices with NO 64bit drivers for them.. Hence the need for occasional XP use.

    mouse

My Brother has a mac and I hooked up a regular mouse to it. Are you sure you can't use a regular mouse on your mac? And I never heard of Ubuntu, is it a word you use or is it a real operating system?
