Not that I'm aware of, but I consider that to be an advantage (one man's meat is another man's poison ... one man's trash is another man's treasure :D). I have a number of frequently accessed sites that I don't want in folders, yet which I want near the top of the bookmarks list. Once you get used to it, you may find that you like the arrangement.

By opening Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks..., you can arrange your bookmarks any way you like, including having all of your folders at the top of the list (drag 'n' drop).

No need to apologize, and yes, I get the same thing ... it has nothing to do with your configuration. If you look at the source, you'll see that the page is written with Microsoft Frontpage, which is notorious for failing to adhere to W3C standards.

Pages like this are the reason I use an extension called Launchy, which allows you to open a page in IE (or any of a number of other programs, if installed) from within FF, or from links in Tbird messages.

I'll have a closer look and try harder before asking ...... ...... but it would involve a lot of dragging and dropping!

    I'll check that out too.

In the meantime, I have restored the first image which was created after the initial installation of FF and TB but before importing Favorites and Address book. It went without a glitch and I can probably say that the mission is completed (to fit FF and TB into my backup strategy). I have only one profile and no default profile in the default location(s).

In FF, on this site, the "new post arrow" doesn't go away when the new posts have been read. Makes it more difficult to find the next topic "in line ". (The arrow goes away and the title gets normal (as opposed to bold) when the page is refreshed but as I remember it, in IE that happens with the back-button.)

I am still using MailWasher + Outlook Express in parallel with TB but I'm impressed with the way the "spam control" works.

I'm less impressed by the Contacts (imported from Outlook Express via Microsoft Outlook) and the way they are displayed.

Maybe my objections will fade when I get accustomed to FF and TB ...... ...... only time will tell.
