I had been using AVG for, nearly, eight years, but the latest version has been very troublesome. I have been using Avast since Oct. 2010, and it has been fine, till today, when it would update the program (like AVG). I was able to do it manually.

Norton Anti-virus program is not the same as Norton Internet Security program. I am using the latter, so I can only check "others ".

I answered Norton Antivirus, but should have chosen other as I have Norton Security suite. It comes as a Comcast version and is free with Comcast as my ISP.
It appears to work very well, so far have had no problems (2 years of use) and when I test with Shields Up everything is protected.

I tried MSE and do not like it and it caused me problems (yes, I shut down Norton while testing MSE).

    Update

A month ago I answered Avira, but have since switched to MSE 2.0, having resolved the conflict with PC Tools Spyware Doctor by ignoring it.

I'm quite happy with MSE, as it requires no attention and doesn't require an annual registration, as avast! and Avira do.

I've used three (not at the same time obviously). When I got my W7 OEM laptop, I started off with Norton 360. Despite being pretty good in some areas, there were times when it just seemed to fall flat on it's face. For several other reasons I decided to discontinue using it and went back to AVG Free which is what I used to use on my XP desktop PC. Now I'm using Avast! and I've not had any problems with it whatsoever.

I have XP on one of my computers and I am wondering why you do not have any AV on yours?
What am I missing in that you do not have an antivirus on some of your computers?
(BTW I have / use AVAST on my XP)
    thanks for reading,

That is one of the first things I take off a new pc. That and all the other useless bloatware that they put on them. Some do use McCrappy and that comes off as quick as Norton.

I fail to see how this post is helpful, particularly in light of the intent of the OP... simply state which anti-virus one uses. Many have done just that... given what they use. A few have added why they choose to run with a particular program. The post above, however, simply presents a juvenile approach to the thread (i.e. McCrappy? useless bloatware?). It's all well and good that YOU happen to find Norton bloatware and something you immediately remove from your computer but adding labels to these programs that express your opinion (one of disgust) is not very helpful. I should add that many reviewers and technical magazines (as well as the antivirus bulletin board) find Norton's latest offering superior in all regards. It is NOT the same program it was three years ago.
