An installed had drive has ceased to show under Hard drives with a check showing it has migrated. Can this error be reverted? I am unaware as to what caused this.

A device migration is the process of moving data from one device to another. Device migrations are usually in response to device upgrades and, to a much lesser extent, hardware corruption or load balancing. The original device must be able to perform the tasks necessary for a device migration

Hi Bobby, Have a look in Device Manager to see if you have any YELLOW exclamation marks.
You may need to Update drivers for your Hard Drive.
Is the HDD you are referring to Internal or External?

RL, checked Device Manager, Toshiba External Portable is shown in Device Manager, and has no signs to indicate there is a fault. Carried out driver upgrade, shows the installed driver is the most up to date. Under this Pc details of installed HD's, the Toshiba 3TB is not shown. In Disk Management : Disk 5 Basic 1862GB on line. 1862.89 GB unallocated. Disk 1 Basic 931.50GB on line. 931GB unallocated.
This happened after looking into Storage Sense.

Mr Bill, thanks for explanation, appreciated.

What happens if you SWITCH OFF Storage Sense?
You obviously switched on the Radio slide button to enable it.

Hi Bobby, Please tell us how many HDD's/SSD's you have connected INTERNALLY and EXTERNALLY to your computer.
If you RIGHT click START > Left click File Explorer > click on This PC > How many drives are shown?

RL, 1 internal C drive 1TB and 1 external drive 3TB - 2 USB sticks, connected at all times. Carried out a Diskpart test, it showed disk 4-5 as unknown, FAT 32 260mb and 259mb, they could be the D that no longer shows. Is this information any help.
In Device Manager : Generic-SD/MMC/MS Pro USB Device. Sandisk SDBSBU-256G-1006.
WD Elements 107C USB Device (External Drive) -WDC WD10EZEX-60WN4A0 (C Drive).)

I see the AD (advertising) is showing in between each Post and reply. Someone is using this site for free advertising. I had this same fault a few weeks ago, unfortunately I can't remember what steps where take correct this.

Bobby, why have you got 2 USB sticks connected all the time?
Please tell me if I am correct when I say that your HP Omen comp has an SSD as your C: drive?

Arie Slob, thanks for your suggestion. Clicked the http://, says unable to open page.

RL, use them several times during a session, could be said that I suffer from laziness in having to plug and unplug.

Have you tried running your comp with the USB sticks removed?
Disconnect your External HDD and Shut down comp.
Start comp and see if your File Explorer shows the HDD.

What is the answer to my question regarding your C: drive?

RL, Good point, removed external HD's, USB sticks and restarted computer. Re-starting computer, in File Explorer only the C HD is showing.
Checked all the Posting here, can't see your question on the C drive.

With all peripherals disconnected - does the comp run OK?
Do you have any message about a Migrating HDD?

RL, Computer is running fine, well for the moment, until the next surprise. No mention of Migrating HDD at start up.
Except for Adverts in this Post. Apparently the culprit is Google.

Bobby, in your last Thread (Downloads no longer show on Desktop) you experienced the Ads problem and it went back to normal as you noted.
If it's happening again you will need to recall what you did during the Thread.

RL, Adverts, they are back and unfortunately my memory has deserted me, as my wife says all people of our age suffer a degree or whole loss of memory retention. Any changes that I make, take a note of what I do. I gather Adverts only apply to my setup.

You'll have to do what I encourage my older brother to do. Write down what you do on a notepad so that you can refer to it when problems occur.

This may also be the reason you are seeing Ads.

I think it would been been better to have been told right from the start that I donate. I appreciate the high costs that BBSwindows incurs in running such an excellent help site. At my age of 89 years, what donation is required of me? I don't like PayPal, never have used it, what is the alternative? As a matter of pure interest, how many non subscribing members are experiencing viewing Ads in their Postings. I appreciate for being told rather than having to trying to solve this problem.
