Do you have any way to erase everything on the drive?

Do you mean the "C" drive? and other than format? I have never tried this out before, can another person send a file, using the "Attachment" in E-mail?

What Internet browsers have you tried using to download the ISO file?

Perform a clean boot and then see if you can download the file with no issues, How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

I was unable to reume normal working as computer entered into perpetual save on the Download short cut window, required a forced restart as all was ina frozen state. I note in the last two days, that it is required of me to sign in each time that I open WindowsBBS.

Well it sounds like you are using Internet Explorer to download the iso file. See if you can use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to download the file.

Click on the link in post #12 which will allow you to hopefully download the ISO file using Google Chrome.

Tried Google Chrome, that always seems to cause chaos with my computer. The ISO file, downloaded as all the previous attempts, only partial and showing the Internet Explorer Logo. It maybe best, just to pass trying to download ISO file.

Boot the computer into Safe Mode with Networking by pressing the F8 key when the computer starts up. Then in Safe Mode with Networking try downloading the ISO file one more time.

As you suggested, try one more time. Well in Safe mode, Explorer.exe failed to function.Caption indicated that Explorerer.exe could not open in Safe Mode. After this exercise, computer takes ages to open in all stages and to crown it the spell check now fails to function.
It will be best to abandon this exercise before real serious damage is done to computer. Thanks for all the help.

Well your best bet might be to go to a local computer shop and have a technician make you a Windows 7 DVD that can be used to reinstall Windows 7.

I wish I could be of more assistance but there isn't anything else that I can do from my end.

Did you think of trying to reformat the drive. Then try to perform a clean install of windows 7 from the upgrade disk or did you try this already and it did not work.

Thank you for your latest suggestions and help, appreciated. I have not reformatted the "C" drive and there is no longer a computer service shop, only PCWorld and in the past they showed very little help on computer matters or appeared to want to.
I find reasons unknown, Spelling Checker is no longer functioning, a bit of a nuisance.

I have changed browser to Mozzila Firefox and tried once again to download the ISO file. It simply refuses to accept or indeed download.

It appears Microsoft has changed their links for downloading Windows 7.

Follow the instructions from here, Microsoft Software Recovery.
