In the malware removal forum, what is the purpose of DDS?

run malwarebytes followed by DDS http://www.windowsbbs.com/malware-virus-removal/announcements.html

So I was wondering what it's purpose is? A glorified hijack this or ...?

Important what it doesn't do:

- it doesn't make changes to the registry
- it doesn't create any permanent files or folders

Unlike hijack this, there are no options to do things that can cause damage.

Just a very small (689K) non commercial program that generates logs in a standard format that can be easily generated and posted by a user with minimal computer savvy.
