Hi Boss, welcome to WindowsBBS :)

An example of a webpage which tells you this?

Updating windows may also help, additionally...

We encourage all members to enter their system details, it could help resolving this and any future issues you may have.

Is it - "Best viewed in Internet Explorer 8.0 and above" kind of statement ?

Don't worry, its static text & the web site is NOT detecting or doing anything with your browser.

    Hi Bossdog55,

Welcome to Windowsbbs. Your problem has not been very well described. You need to be a bit more descriptive or problem specific.

Webpage is just letting you know which browser may work best when viewing his or her site based on the code the page was written for. Doesn't mean you are obligated or restricted to just that browser or version. Is your problem more broad than just a site courtesy notice?

Keep us informed but I'm a little curious, in your initial post you indicate that you're clicking on properties. Now I'll admit I don't use IE that often but as far as I know there is no properties option in the help menu

There is NO properties in Help in IE8.
There is a Properties in File and that is the only place.

Don't have an earlier version of IE, but I don't remember there being one in Help.

Boss, Click on Help/About Internet Explorer and it will tell you what version you have.
You need to finish filling out your System Details.

What version of Windows are you running?

    From a PM ....
Long shot, but are you perhaps viewing those web sites in Compatability View - that is compatible with an earlier version of IE.

I suspect rsinfo is correct in that it is the result of the coding on the site(s) in question.
