    Hi Paul,

    Rod Serling around? ;)

This is the only Registry Key you need to edit:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\http\shell\open\command
    "C:\PROGRA~1\MOZILLA THUNDERBIRD\THUNDERBIRD.EXE -url "%1 "

I think what you missed was my saying that you would need to change the Program from Mozilla 1.7 to Mozilla Thunderbird in the above key, i.e., Mozilla to Mozilla Thunderbird, and mozilla.exe to Thunderbird.exe... In other words, edit the Registry Key to fit your need. Hope I'm still not putting you in the Twilight Zone.

    Hi Ramona ...

You've got a lot of stuff in your http key that I don't. Just for the sake of comparison, here's mine ...
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\http]
    @= "URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol "
    "EditFlags "=dword:00000002
    "URL Protocol "=" "
    "BrowserFlags "=dword:00000008

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\http\AnimExtensions]
    ". "= "dxmasf.dll,150 "
    ".asf "= "dxmasf.dll,150 "
    ".asp "= "dxmasf.dll,150 "
    ".asx "= "dxmasf.dll,150 "
    ".nsc "= "dxmasf.dll,150 "
    ".wax "= "dxmasf.dll,150 "
    ".wm "= "dxmasf.dll,150 "
    ".wma "= "dxmasf.dll,150 "
    ".wmv "= "dxmasf.dll,150 "
    ".wmx "= "dxmasf.dll,150 "
    ".wvx "= "dxmasf.dll,150 "

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\http\DefaultIcon]
    @= "D:\\INTERNET\\FIREFOX\\FIREFOX.EXE,1 "

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\http\Extensions]
    ".IVF "= "{C69E8F40-D5C8-11D0-A520-145405C10000} "

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\http\shell]
    @= "open "

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\http\shell\open]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\http\shell\open\command]
    @= "D:\\INTERNET\\FIREFOX\\FIREFOX.EXE -url \ "%1\" "

I also run Firefox/Thunderbird on a 98 SE computer. The http registry key on that computer looks very similar to yours, so the difference is definitely because of the OS requirements.

You said to Paul, in post #17:
"I'm thinking that you may not have the ddeexec folder... "
Paul never has said what OS he's using ... if he's using XP, he won't have it, and doesn't need it.
