The last time i used my WD 2T external hard drive it worked fine.

Now it does not show up in my computer. So i can't access any of the files. All the light does is either blink fast or slow, i have been reading on the internet several other peoples post about them having the same problem, but with no solutions.

Can someone help me with this problem?

    Thank you.

Have you tried another USB port/cable ? If the hard drive needs external power source make sure that its plugged in from both the ends.

    I had the same problem.

Went to device manager and dbl clicked on each USB and dbl clicked on each USB entry and chose the obvious entry thaqt enables that port.:)

Hi flippylip. Does the external hard drive show up on a different computer?

Then most probably there is something wrong with the drive itself.

I agree with rsinfo. If the drive does not work on another computer then there is some internal issue with the external drive.

Just to let everyone know, i called wallmart last night because i registered it with them, they have put in a claim for it. So now i just wait for the shipping label to come and then ship it back to them, unfortunately i will not be able to get everything off of the drive. UGGG. They are also reimbursing me the full amount with a gift card to use on another drive.

That is why important things should have at least 2 or 3 backups. Thumb drives are so cheap now a days, that everybody should have at least a couple of them to use as backups also.
