Windows Vista Vista won't update

    i tried the microsoft windows update automatic troubleshooter with no results and there is no BITS listed in services(local)?

    ok i did all that stuff again, same result. first there is no BTIS in services(local) and to get in i right clicked services and run as admin. second everything was correct in the windows event log setting under properties, third i ran the fix and it said there is still a problem?

    From an elevated (Administrator) command prompt run this command: sc query bits>%userprofile%\Desktop\bits.txt

    OK, try running this command from an elevated command prompt: sc create BITS binpath= "c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs" start= delayed-auto.

    If successful, restart Windows.

    ok that was a success, i tried to run windows update and it got stuck so i had to hard boot, i check and the BITS is in services now so whats next?

    so i went into properties in BITS and it was on automatic but it was stopped, so i clicked start and it tried but got this message Windows could not start this service on local computer, Error 2 the system cannot find the file specified

    i also tried running BITS Repair Tool for Windows Vista (KB940520) and got the same message on this: BITS repair is not required currently

    windows update said it downloaded the 7 important updates but they are still there when i check for updates, and when i look at the update log it says they all failed?
