    I think we're done with this one

    Thanks for all your help, Dave.

    I just deleted the temporary Java files, which I presume should have gotten rid of that "hacktool" as Active scan called it.

    After one more reboot, my mouse started working again, and the Symantec help folks heped fix Norton AV. The only issue left is the Google toolbar, I started a new tread under "other software ".
