Your log indicates the presence of E2Give although you have not found any reference to it .....

    O2 - BHO: CControl Object - {3643ABC2-21BF-46B9-B230-F247DB0C6FD6} - C:\Program Files\E2G\IeBHOs.dll (file missing)
    O20 - AppInit_DLLs: iniwin32.dll

Apart from that your log appears to be clean.

Symantec have removal instructions on their site here but I feel that they may be too complex for you.

Looking through your logs I cannot see any evidence of an antivirus program running - I see McAfee Firewall, but no antivirus.

Which antivirus software are you running?

    Hi Pete
I believe this is her AV. I looked it up earlier not knowing what it was.
    "Zero Knowledge Freedom ".

    FYI
MajorGeeks also has a removal for E2Give which also seems complex.

I checked that out too and was not convinced - if it is av, which is could well be, it does not appear to be up to much.

Sorry that I haven't respond for awhile. I could not access the internet for some reason and my husband as a last effort rebooted the whole computer. I haven't had any pop-ups and my firewall hasn't had to block the e2give since we rebooted. I'm not sure what antivirus weve been running (my husband usually does most of the computer stuff). Can you recommend a good one? I believe everything is gone now, but want to make sure I never have to deal with it again if I can help it. I have spygate as my firewall and would like a real good antivirus as well. Oh and can you tell me what the name of the virus was if it has one?

Thank you both for all your help.

The basic problem has been E2Give which we have been unable to remove completely. The instructions Geri posted from the majorgeeks site may be less complex than those at Symantec. If you feel unable to go through them on your own get some help from a friend with some knowledge of computers - and whom you trust :)

We think that Zero Knowledge Freedom which you have installed is some form of antivirus. IMO you should uninstall it and use AVG Free (freeware and recommended).
