Inactive Virus redircting, can't download or run virus scan, etc.

    OK please do this.

    Download a copy of HijackThis installer from here and save it to your Desktop.

    1. Double-click on the HJTintall.exe icon on your desktop.
      (Let it install to the default location C:\Program Files\Hijackthis)
    2. Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialogue.
    3. Put a check by Create a desktop icon and then click Next again.
    4. Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
    5. At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch HijackThis.


    Click on scan only. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

    O23 - Service: Automatic LiveUpdate Scheduler - Symantec Corporation - C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\ALUSchedulerSvc.exe
    O23 - Service: Symantec Lic NetConnect service (CLTNetCnService) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe (file missing)
    O23 - Service: Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect Service (navapsvc) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\navapsvc.exe (file missing)


    Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.

    Close HJT.


    Using Windows Explorer (to get there right-click your Start button and go to "Explore "), please delete these folders

    C:\My Download Files\Nero(2)
    C:\Program Files\Symantec



    Using Windows Explorer (to get there right-click your Start button and go to "Explore "), please delete this file (if present):

    C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\SetupFiles\CursorManiaSetup2.1.50.3-3.exe


    Open Firefox
    Click on Tools > Options > click on the Privacy Tab.
    Click on the Show Cookies button
    Click on Remove All Cookies.

    Please clear your Firefox cache.
    Click on Tools.
    Click on Clear Private Data
    Put a check in the Cache box
    Click Clear Private Data Now.
    OK any prompts.


    Open Netscape, go to Tools | Cookie Manager | Manage Stored Cookies.
    Click Remove All Cookies.

    Run ATF Cleaner
    Now one more Panda scan Please.
