From somewhere, I now have Viewpoint in my system. It appears to be some kind of media player. I don't know much about it or where it came from, so I went to Control Panel > Add/Remove and attempted to uninstall it. That took out some of it, but when I searched on Viewpoint, I found a couple of folders and some files that did not get removed. Viewpoint web site offers an "Uninstaller" download. It ran and seemed to take out something, but it didn't uninstall the whole thing.

Several related questions come to mind:
    How did I get Viewpoint?
Why do I need Viewpoint when I already have Media Player and Real Player?
How do I get rid of all the files that Viewpoint brought with it?

Would appreciate your opinions and suggestions.

Additional information in case you do not have or use "Aol Instant Messenger ". This player has several other programs that can come bundled with it and/or a browser plug-in.

Gotten from this past post link:

Note:This is legtimate software but does have a habit of showing up as an installed aplication whether you want or need it. It is one of those calls that a user must make for themselves.

Appreciate the help. Thanks for the links Goddess; I looked at them and will try the removal steps suggested there.
