Resolved Viewing Problem

Dell Inspiron 1750

I apparently have a part going bad. When watching video on Xfinity and also trying to watch a movie on iTunes the video "catches" and the sound sounds distorted at the same time. Eventually the people talking and what you are hearing doesn't match. Time for a new part, or a new laptop?

I guess I should have written that I don't know what part needs replaced. I wasn't sure if the part needed was so expensive that it would be less costly to just get a new laptop. I've had this laptop for 3 1/2 years. I have no idea what is causing this and would appreciate some thoughts on what's needed to fix it. It also is affecting playing music.
